At career day in elementary school, there are always firefighters, chefs, business men and women, lawyers, doctors, and every other typical job a child dreams of having when they are older. At events like this, I never found anything that really jumped out at me or appealed to me. Some kids knew they wanted to be teachers, or veterinarians, but I never had any idea. Even all the way through high school, and mainly through college I still had no idea what I wanted to do. I sort of fell into working for a payroll company mid way through my sophomore year of college. We had a family friend who started his own payroll company. It took off, many companies would outsource to him for all there payroll needs.
I began working there just to make some extra money, but soon realized that I was really good at this type of work. I as good at staying organized and keeping track of all the employees of the various companies, their wages, things like commission payments, filling out proper tax forms and taking care of all of that. I continued working there all throughout college and was offered and even higher position in the company after I graduated college. For someone who had no idea what they were going to do with their life, getting a great job that I actually enjoy immediately following college graduation is a dream come true.
