Issues with Neighbors

My family and I have lived in the same house for fifteen years and all of a sudden, a new neighbor moves in right next door. At first they seems pretty polite and even knocked on our door the first day they moved in to meet and greet us. After about two weeks however, they mentioned that the fence bordering our back yard was actually inclosing a portion of their land. This could not be possible and I explained to them how we have lived her for fifteen years and the original land owners put up that fence. I thought that they would be a little more understanding because not only is there land inside the borders of the fence, but we also have a pool, which is also located on that land the new neighbors are having an issue with.

They were not at all understanding, and only got more and more angry with the family over this bit of land. I actually had to hire a real estate lawyer, after they threatened to go to court over this problem. Hopefully the attorney will be able to protect my rights as a homeowner. If I have to move back the fence and get rid of the pool my family will be so disappointed and we will have wasted all the time and money it took to install the pool. When these neighbors moved in, I never thought it would cause such an issue to my family and my home.
